Snow Day...

Wish we could declare a state-wide Snow Day and everyone could skip work and just go out and make snowmen and go sledding...
Alas, such is not to be. But it IS snowing, and very cold outside, so you should come by here and warm up with some cocoa or coffee while you wait for your soup and panini to be ready.
We've also just recently got some new books in, so the inventory has been replenished a bit. Remember you can ask me if there's a specific book you're looking for~
Hope you all had a nice Christmas and a great New Year. I'm looking forward to this year...I think it's gonna be a good one. :-)
See you soon!

PS-we have a facebook page now, (maintained by my husband-so don't get mad if it gets silly). The profile is Affogato Coffee Bar.

Fall esta aqui!

...you know what that means...we gots Pumpkin roll, among other things!
So swing by, look at what's in our new deli case and buy some delicious baked goods from us. As usual we have our paninis, muffins, cookies, biscotti, soup, sides, and scones available all the time. If you want to order any bread through us, don't forget to let us know by 1pm the day before you want to pick up your bread!
As for goings-on, I'm still recovering from the madness that was October so you're just gonna have to search through bigreda.com/calendar yourself, and check on enjoybellevue.com occasionally too. I'll try to get back on and keep you kids posted!
PS-don't forget we sell gift baskets and gift cards, so keep us in mind for your what-to-buy list.

long overdue update

Hi everybody! I know, I know, I'm a terrible person, so forgetful and mean for ignoring the burning desires of all my customers to know what's going on behind the scenes. I promise to try to be better about it. I know I say that about once every three months, but now I have more employees helping out for the summertime, and I am determined to work my ass off and make this one hell of a good coffee bar.
And I intend to start with the blog, the website, and the backyard. Oh, and some advertising, if I can get sales up enough to be able to pay for it....
So stay tuned, and more importantly, stop in, meet the newbie employees and get some tasty food and drinks!

yummy things

So, yesterday I made a split pea and rice soup that is quite tasty, although somewhat lacking in character. (as in, it's not spicy at all, but I had a request for a mild soup, so don't blame me.) It has mushroom, frozen peas, and onion in it too, so let us know if you have any allergies we should watch out for.
Probably tomorrow or Thursday I'll be making a potato and leek soup, but I'm still looking for a recipe. I've never made that before, so I need a little guidance.
There are a few pieces of mixed veggie quiche left, plus don't forget we've usually got some savory grilled cheese sandwiches available for only $1.50 . Right now it's a sun-dried tomato and basil bread with mozzarella.
As for paninis, right this second there's only some pepperoni with bacon and pepperjack, and the vegetarian one is eggplant with fresh mozz and sun-dried tomato. I plan on doing some sort of chicken mushroom melt panini later today once I get the bread in, so come check it out some time after 12 or so.
Thanks everybody, and stay tuned!
